EY South Africa offers bursaries to students committed to qualifying as Chartered Accountants. The programme is directed at students following a recognised Chartered Accountancy study route and considers academic performance together with financial need. The 2027 programme information includes school-leaver and university applicant routes, and applicants must check the current CA-stream requirements for their level of study.

EY describes two types of support. The Academic Merit with Financial Need Bursary may cover one or more of tuition, accommodation, books and meals. The Academic Merit Bursary covers a portion of tuition fees. In return for bursary support, recipients are required to work at EY for the duration of their training contract, which is stated to be at least three years.

The 2027 university and matric bursary application window ran from 1 July to 30 September 2026 and is now closed. EY lists a combined document submission that can include a CV, certified identity document, matric certificate, full academic record, parental payslip or unemployment affidavit, and the student’s three-month bank statement.
