The City of Ekurhuleni Community Bursary Programme supports eligible residents who intend to study full time in 2027 at an accredited South African university, university of technology or TVET college. Applicants must be South African citizens who permanently reside in Ekurhuleni, be between 18 and 35 years old, have completed Grade 12, have secured acceptance or proof of registration for 2027, and have an annual household income not exceeding R600,000.

The 2027 notice lists opportunities in the built environment, including civil and electrical engineering, property studies, building and construction management, and geomatics or GIS. Other approved areas include information and communication technology, computer science and informatics with artificial intelligence, information technology, accounting and finance, logistics and supply chain management, environmental health, occupational health and safety, water quality and waste management. TVET technical options include electrical and civil engineering and construction-related programmes.

Applicants must upload certified identity documents, an acceptance letter or proof of registration, proof of Ekurhuleni residence and household-income evidence. Certification must be no older than three months. The bursary is renewable annually subject to academic performance and a signed bursary contract. The published notice does not state a fixed award amount, so applicants should consult the official circular for the funding terms.
