Citrus Academy Bursary Fund
The Citrus Academy Bursary Fund supports young people who want to build careers in the South African citrus industry. The fund has undergraduate, postgraduate and BEE bursary support categories. It considers agricultural qualifications related to citrus production and other fields connected to the agricultural industry, including areas such as logistics and entomology.
Applicants may study at recognised universities, colleges or universities of technology in South Africa. The Citrus Academy’s published FAQ states that students are supported from their second year of study. The selection criteria include the relevance of the field to citrus, academic performance, financial need, background connection to the citrus industry, previously disadvantaged status, gender and disability.
The fund can assist with study-related expenses such as tuition, on-campus accommodation, research costs, books and stationery. The published annual deadline is 15 September in the year before the proposed year of study; for 2027 study, that date was 15 September 2026. The application process has moved to the Citrus Communities Student Community, so applicants should follow the current link on the official site.
