Implats Bursary Programme
Implats offers bursaries to students pursuing qualifications in fields that support its mining and processing operations and other business functions. The published programme information lists Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, Electrical Engineering (heavy current), Chemical Engineering, Geology, Chemistry, Accounting, Human Resources and Surveying.
The programme page states that support can include registration and tuition fees for the duration of the course, residence fees and a cash allowance. Students who receive a bursary must undertake vacation work with the company at the end of each year and work for the company for a period equal to the period of bursary support. Applicants should read the bursary agreement carefully before accepting an award.
The downloadable application form states that applications close on 30 September and that late applications are not considered. It also lists minimum school results of 60% in Mathematics, Physical Science and English, and requests an identity document, CV, academic results, proof of residence and university documents where applicable. Confirm the applicable intake year and deadline with Implats before applying because the public form is not labelled specifically for 2027.
